A Full-Price Listing on a New Full-Frame Body
B&H Photo Video lists the Sony a7 V (model ILCE-7M5), body only, at $2,898.00 with no discount showing. This is a full-price purchase on one of the newest cameras in Sony's full-frame a7 line, so it is worth treating as a considered buy rather than a markdown.
Where the a7 Line Fits
The a7 series is Sony's all-around full-frame mirrorless family, positioned between its entry-level and flagship models for photographers and hybrid shooters who want serious image quality without moving to the most expensive bodies. The a7 V is the newest generation of that line.
What "Body Only" Means for Your Budget
Body only means no lens is included. The real cost of getting started is higher once you add a lens, a memory card, and ideally a spare battery, and the lens you choose will shape your results as much as the camera body does. Plan for those extras before you decide this is within budget.
The E-Mount Lens Advantage
Sony's E-mount has one of the broadest lens ecosystems in mirrorless, including strong third-party options. That is a real advantage for buyers who do not want to be locked into one manufacturer's glass, and it makes it easier to start with an affordable lens and upgrade later.
Why Buy It From B&H
B&H is a long-established photo and video specialist and an authorized dealer for major brands, known for knowledgeable customer service and straightforward returns. On a purchase near $2,900, buying from an established specialist matters more than saving a few dollars at an unfamiliar seller.
The Bottom Line
At $2,898.00 with no discount shown, this is a full-price purchase on a new-generation full-frame body. Budget for a lens and accessories, and buy it from a retailer you trust — B&H fits that description.
